How to measure
Measure the finished coverage area and required depth. Ask the supplier about compaction and delivery minimums.
How the estimate works
Area × depth gives volume; add allowance and divide by the labeled bag volume.
A worked example
A 20 × 3 ft path at 2 in deep needs 10 cubic feet. With 10% allowance, buy 22 half-cubic-foot bags.
Before you buy
Volume estimate only. Tons depend on the specific material density; base layers and compaction are not engineered here. Default values are illustrative starting points. Check the label and adjust them to your product.
